Publishing rights to own material

  • Unknown's avatar

I have compiled some of my wordpress blog articles which I’ve written into part of a book I’m seeking to publish. The publisher asks for an e-mail from the domain names https://theroperreportsite.wordpress.com/ and https://shieldwallnetwork.wordpress.com/ stating that I own the right to publish my own articles there. Can I get that from you, please, one for each site? Thank you, Billy Roper, (email visible only to moderators and staff), @shieldwallnetwork

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Billy,

As long as you are the owner of the site, you have all the rights over your content. Here is a statement from the support document:

The creator of original material (text, images, songs, etc) has copyright over that material; this is the right to decide who can use that material, as well as where and when that use is authorized.

You can learn more about it in this support document:

    Copyright and the DMCA

You could send a link to the support document to the publisher is it helps. If still, you face an issue, we can tag the WordPress.com staff to assist you with it further.

You can learn more about tagging the staff here:

Hope this helps, let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

It is not possible to create an email address @ a free WordPress.com URL, so there is no way to send an email from either of those sites.

You own any and all content you create on your site and can do with it whatever you want. I suggest you refer your publisher to our terms of service for more information.
