publishing to a page of your choice

I want to write a blog and when it’s published I want it to appear on one of the pages I have created. There is a page where all blogs go but I also want it to go onto a specific page. How do I do this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

The site is already doing this. For example, the category pages Random musings, and In the UK and Europe display posts with the corresponding category assigned, and each post that appears in any category page also appears in your blog page (aka posts page), which includes all published posts, and is presently displayed on the front page of https://spinifexandpearls.wordpress.com/.

    Needs fixing:
Your menu item “Home” is presently linked to a trashed static page. Your menu item “All posts” links to an empty static page of that title. You might want to change the link URL of one of these to the site URL, which is the URL of your front page.

There is only one blog page per WordPress.com site. However, you may reassign the blog page role from the default blog page to any static page. Acquiring the blog page role changes a static page into a dynamic one.

In order to set a static page as your blog page, you’ll have to set another static page as your front page. See the Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page) support page.

Acquiring the blog page role changes a static page into a dynamic one.

That is, it is dynamic while it is set as the blog page. It can be reverted to a static page by setting another static page as the blog page.

Thank you for helping me. I accidentally trashed the content from the static home page and about me. Can I get them back?

I know the various pages display posts relevant to that page. That’s because I used to be able to direct the blog to the page i wanted it to appear on . I thought I did that by including in the categories for each blog, the name of the page I wanted it to appear on. I haven’t blogged for a while. I tried doing that with my latest blog but it didn’t go onto the page I have created for it, My Winter Summer. How do you get the blogs to go onto the page you want them on? I understand they will also go onto the post page that all posts go onto.

I would like to change the link URL of one of those pages to the site URL as you have suggested. How do I do that?

Thanks again and best wishes, Linda

    You’re welcome.

I accidentally trashed the content from the static home page and about me. Can I get them back?

Yes. See the Restoring from Trash section of the Trash support page.

I used to be able to direct the blog to the page i wanted it to appear on…How do you get the blogs to go onto the page you want them on?

As I mentioned above, your “Random musings” and “In the UK and Europe” menu items link to category pages, which display posts assigned those categories, respectively. The dynamic category pages do that automatically, but static pages such as “My Winter Summer” do not. Here’s your “My Winter Summer” category page: https://spinifexandpearls.wordpress.com/category/my-winter-summer/. So what you’ll need to do is change the link URL of the menu item so that it links to the category page rather than the static pagte.

Alternatively, you could add Display Posts Shortcode to a static page in order to display posts of a certain category (or of multiple selected categories) in it.
