Pull Down Menus on Mobile Devices – Inconsistent Behaviour

I’m working with the Quintus theme, but I don’t think this is necessarily theme-related. I have enabled the mobile functionality, which I assume is much like JetPack on my privately hosted blog.

What I’m seeing is inconsistent behaviour with touch devices in how pull down menus are rendered. Perhaps it’s an issue with the way the web browser works on the device, or maybe it’s in the mobile functionality of WordPress. Anyway, if I view a page with a pull-down menu with an iPhone or BlackBerry Z10, I’m seeing the mobile blockish menu button at the top. With the iPhone, touching it drops down the options and I can touch again and activate the link. With the Z10, touching the menu button does something that seems to be putting a submenu on the page, but the links don’t appear. It’s as if the menu is being rendered underneath the page content, if you know what I mean. I can see a bit of the dropdown box just under the box, but it disappears when it reaches the page content. Needless to say, clicking where the link would be does nothing.

So is this a theme issue, a problem with the mobile rendering system of WordPress, a bug in the Z10 browser or something else again?

Perhaps also of note… my PlayBook renders the page as a desktop computer would… evidently WordPress doesn’t consider it a mobile device. Is there a way to make pull down menus work in a touch device rendering the full blown site without the mobile tweaks?
