Pull Quote Bugs – Twenty Nineteen theme
-
Noticed a couple things in the Pullquote block that I think are worth noting.
First, as noted by trnkajan in his Jan. 15 forum post, the color customization doesn’t seem to “stick” unless the user uses the custom color picker. That is, I picked “vivid cyan blue” for the first pullquote, “cyan bluish gray” for the second, and “very dark gray” for the third, all from the preset “Color Settings” options. When I previewed the page or published and viewed the page, however, all the blocks were still displaying as “vivid cyan blue.”
When I chose a custom color for the second two blocks through the “custom color picker” circle, then the colors “stuck” and I saw them on preview and the live page.
Second, the pullquote blocks don’t seem to get wider as my browser window gets wider, like they do on the demo version of the site. With the browser width the same, my pullquote blocks are much narrower than on the demo. Do I have to adjust the CSS or another setting, or is this just a bug?

Hi there,
When I previewed the page or published and viewed the page, however, all the blocks were still displaying as “vivid cyan blue.”
When I chose a custom color for the second two blocks through the “custom color picker” circle, then the colors “stuck” and I saw them on preview and the live page.
Thanks for that! We’ll do some testing here to see if we can duplicate this.

I noticed the demo does not have a sidebar; want to try it without one to see if that helps?

Just noting I haven’t been able to duplicate the pullquote colors issue — if you can send more info on how you did that, that would be great.

Okay actually I was able to duplicate this with a solid color block. We’ll keep working at this and get it reported. Thanks!

Great, glad you saw it too and I’m not losing my mind.
For your sidebar recommendation, I’m not seeing where to turn off the sidebar. It’s not under Widgets, and it’s not a content block. Don’t see any template besides Default. I’m sure I’m missing something obvious, but if you could point me in the right direction …

Sure, let me see what I can find.
Also, as an update, it’s looking like the color block issue might be a core issue (with WordPress itself rather than the theme or with our installation) so we’ll be filing that once it’s fully confirmed. Thank you for reporting this.
