Pull Quotes
-
Hi guys,
I have a simple question regarding the Twenty Fourteen theme. How can I enable pull quotes such as in this example provided by WordPress?
Thanks!

Consult your detailed theme description page please and especially the example page linked to in it http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyfourteen/
Pull quotes can be enhanced on wider screens by simply adding a class of pull to the blockquote element that is already left- or right-aligned, and the quote will float into the margin accordingly. It’s a subtle visual treatment, yet it makes posts look more dynamic, and helps draw attention to your key points. See an example of pull quotes in action. http://twentyfourteendemo.wordpress.com/2013/11/12/featured-images-really-shine/

I could be dead wrong but I believe the how-to is the same as or at least similar to what you find described here under ““Pull” images and blockquotes” > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/05/04/workings-of-duster/

P.S. If that does not work then type modlook into the sidebar tags so your thread does not fall between the cracks.

Hello are pull quotes an available option in wordpress.com? it only gives me the block quote option in my kitchen sink. Is this because I’m using wordpress.com instead of .org?

The passage timethief quoted comes from the ‘official’ instructions to the theme but it’s wrong.
To create a pull quote on 2014 you add an “alignleft” or “alignright” class to it. That is, after creating a blockquote the normal way, you switch the editor to Text and turn this:
<blockquote>
to this:
<blockquote class="alignleft">
or this:
<blockquote class="alignright"> -
