Puny Typing Screen
-
I am returning to blogging after a leave of absence and when I click on ‘New Post’ and ‘Type’, the opening page of the blog sinks to the bottom half of the screen, and the top half has the box in which you type. How do I get the full screen with room to type instead that claustrophobically small half screen? Surely, I am having a technical problem and the site was not really meant to do this(?) Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Lisa. What you’re describing is the “new” dashboard experience, and it does indeed mean to be that size. But! You are in luck! We can get around that one of two ways.
1. When you get that little slide-down pane, you can turn that whole pane into writing space by clicking on the icon in the formatting bar that looks like four arrows coming out from a center point (2nd icon from the right).
2. You can still get to the “old” dashboard. In the admin bar where you click on New Post, if you instead go over to the left side and hover over your site name (On Painting), you’ll see links to the old dashboard experience. Go down to New, then over to Post, and you’ll get the old posting screen you remember. Of note, that four-arrow icon is in the formatting bar on that editor also, and will turn it into a full-screen distraction-free writing experience that’s pretty nice.
Hope this helps!
