  Hi, I need a phone number to talk to a support person. This site is under construction and has not purchased the upgrade yet. This will happen shortly. I am confused, thought it was free until you did an upgrade. Please let me speak to someone.

  WordPress.com does not offer phone support. Here are the various types of support available: https://en.support.wordpress.com/help-support-options/

  WordPress.com has a free plan. However to have advanced customization, additional storage space, a custom domain and some other features, requires a paid upgrade.

  We offer a Free plan as well as paid plans — both of your sites are currently using the free plan.

  What do you need help with?
