Purchase

I just received an email notifying me of a domain name purchase (not a receipt). I am confused because I thought I started a free blog. I did not enter any credit card information. I want to confirm that I, in fact, did not purchase anything from your site and urge you to change the wording of your email after starting a free blog. It is very disconcerting to get notice of a purchase when none was made.

@familyfleet I don’t see any domains on your account. Can you tell us the subject of the email?

The subject was Welcome to WordPress. The body of the email began:
“Welcome to WordPress.com! You just purchased a new domain, and the possibilities ahead are endless.
This is your new address: . When you start your site, you can share this address with people to invite them to visit.”
There is no address listed in the body of the email. I have no record of purchases. I intended to start a free website/blog. I find this email to be confusing and not welcoming. I wanted to leave my feedback for whoever puts these emails out.
