With the WordPress.com Business or eCommerce plan, you unlock advanced hosting features (like real-time automatic backups, SSH, SFTP, and more). One of those features is the ability to install third-party themes and plugins.
When you upgrade to the Business or eCommerce plan and attempt to install a plugin or upload a theme, your site is moved to a special server that allows you to install plugins and upload themes. All free and paid themes and plugins (except for the incompatible ones) can be uploaded and installed.
However, any paid plugins — whether sold by our company or other companies — will still need to be paid for. The WordPress.com Business does not include any paid plugins. The eCommerce plan does include a selection of paid WooCommerce extensions. You can see the list of paid extensions included in the WordPress.com eCommerce plan here:
