Purchase "Awesome" theme plus an extra purchase

Hello, I’m a very happy wordpress user, and I would like to renew my Theme and purchase the named “Awesome” theme. This theme costs $ 75 and it is shown in the Themes page with a wide photo, wich is just what I need. But when I try the preview I’ve noticed there are no photo unless purchasing another $30. Is this possible? It says : This tool is part of the Custom Design upgrade.
    Thanks for your help

  • Hi there,

I would like to renew my Theme and purchase the named “Awesome” theme. This theme costs $ 75 and it is shown in the Themes page with a wide photo, wich is just what I need.

I looked at both the sites under your account, and they both appear to be using the Nishita theme currently, and there is no need to “renew” your theme, as it is free and never expires.

The awesome theme is a premium theme, however, and a one-time purchase means that you will own this theme for life, and can use it on any site you create on your WordPress.com account.

But when I try the preview I’ve noticed there are no photo unless purchasing another $30. Is this possible? It says : This tool is part of the Custom Design upgrade.

I’m not sure what you mean by “no photos” but if you are referring to the ones you see on the theme demo site here, those are sample content, and not included in the purchase. You will need to use your own text and images in place of the content you see on the demo.

Tht Custom Design upgrade is not related to these images, but instead allows you to tweak the appearance of your theme in the following ways:
    – Use custom fonts
    – Change the theme color scheme
    – Add custom CSS code

You can purchase the upgrade from the Store page in your dashboard, or learn more about it here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Hi Jerry, I didn’t purchase Awesome theme yet, I only was a bit confused because the preview theme (awesome) only shows the posts titles from my blog, no my photos( I know the pictures shown are samples).
But, after a while I realise that on my posts I must activate “feature image”.
I guess I got confused because of this : “Snapshots are a way to save your design customizations. This tool is part of the Custom Design upgrade.”
Than you very much for your quick answer!

  • Ah, gotcha. Yes, it is the “Featured Image” that controls the images you see in the demo. You can add them to your posts using this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/

After you have done that, the next time you preview this theme (or any theme that uses featured images) you will see them displayed as you should.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Jerry, I need to know how can I activate a coupon that has expired, can you help me?
    Thanks!

  • Hi Martín.

What coupon are you referring to?

Hi Jerry, thank you for your answer.

It was a coupon wordpress gave me for some mistake they did( years ago) … the thing is I couldn’t use it at that time and I need it now, if its possible.

Here I copy the original e-mail I received from wordpress:

    “Hello martín,

We recently found and fixed a mistake that we’d like to tell you about. Passwords on WordPress.com are saved in a way that makes them extremely secure, such that even our own employees are unable to see your actual password – the one you enter to login to your WordPress.com account. However, between July 2007 and April 2008, and September 2010 and July 2011, a mistake in one of our systems used to find and correct bugs on WordPress.com accidentally logged some users’ passwords in a less secure format during registration.

We’ve updated our systems to prevent passwords from being logged this way in the future, so this will not happen again. We don’t have any evidence that this data has been accessed maliciously or misused, but to be on the safe side we are resetting your password since your account is among those affected.

Please change your password using this link or copy and paste the URL below into your web browser:

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=QeCodbUFDIu3lprcVYiS&login=martincomics

If the password you used when you registered on WordPress.com was one you use elsewhere, you should change it there, too. In the future, remember that it’s good practice to always use unique passwords for different services.

We are terribly sorry about this mistake. No one likes having to create new passwords and we’d like to include a 15% off coupon to say we’re sorry. The coupon can be used for a custom domain, a design upgrade, VideoPress, or a storage space increase. Just use the code below on any of the upgrades on the WordPress.com Store:

    pc38faf84d

If you have any questions, please reply to this email and one of our Happiness Engineers will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Thank you,
    The WordPress.com Team”

  • That coupon was from quite some time ago, and unfortunately is no longer valid.
