Purchase Domain and Custom CSS Theme
-
I wish to get the domain name “www.nendogamer.fm” and i would like to know if i can do that with wordpress.
Another question is that if i am to have my own domain name i wish to have the ARRAS Theme for my site which is available here: http://www.arrastheme.com/
Would that be possible?Or if you know any other alternatives that would be great. I’ve been using WP for a long time already and i’ve enjoyed the experience and would love to upgrade to a payed service.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are off-track so ley me explain this. The same TOS and policies apply to your blog whether you have your own domain and domain mapping from wordpress.com like I do or not.
You can only use the same themes you can use now -> Appearance -> Themeshttp://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
Note that only .com, .org, and .net domains can currently be registered through WordPress.com. If you wish to use another type of domain, you will need to register it at another registrar and then map the domain to your blog. -
There is no paid upgrade other than the $600 per month VIP program which enables you to add external themes. CSS editing with the paid upgrade allows you to change the look of an existing theme, if you have the skills, but it doesn’t allow you to use an external theme.
You can use external themes on external sites, so that would mean finding paid hosting elsewhere and installing software from WordPress.ORG and importing your blog over to that.

Hmmm … I guess this got lost in the shuffle.
The wordpress.com support documentation http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/ states:
“Note that only .com, .org, and .net domains can currently be registered through WordPress.com. If you wish to use another type of domain, you will need to register it at another registrar and then map the domain to your blog. ” -

.ca domains (getting off topic) are only allowed to be purchased on registrars on behalf of the Canadian government such as go daddy.
Custom CSS is a $50/year upgrade and domain mapping is $15?/m
Check out http://wordpress.org/hosting/ if you want to run ads or add custom themes/what not.

Uh, as a Canadian I can tell you that .ca domains are dead common; they’re not restricted to government.
And I don’t know where you’re getting your numbers. This is what the Support page says:
The cost for the Custom CSS upgrade is 14.97 credits ($14.97) per year per blog
-
They are restricted by the government you need to be Canadian before you can get a .ca.
Oh wow then I was way off. My apologizes.
-
you need to be Canadian
Wrong. You need to have a connection to Canada:
http://www.cira.ca/faq-rules-for-registration/ -
What does that have to do with anything? Presumably nobody who’s not Canadian would want one. But the issue is,
Is a non .com .org or .net domain name available for purchase from WordPress.com. I believe that they do sell these, and have for a year or so.

“You can enter the domain at a registrar website such as GoDaddy.com to see if any results are returned.
Note that only .com, .org, and .net domains can currently be registered through WordPress.com. If you wish to use another type of domain, you will need to register it at another registrar and then map the domain to your blog.”

If I am a non-Canadian, not living in Canada, but doing business there, say, if I am the manufacturer of a product or own a “foreign” brand that is sold in Canada, I would want a .ca domain, yes.
Anyway, back to the issue, I don’t think that non .com .org or .net domain names are available through wordpress.com, but you can register any TLD with your wordpress.com blog. I’ve done it on several occasions. However it usually requires some staff intervention.
