Hi Teresa –
Thanks for sharing that information.
barrholdings.biz is actually hosted with GoDaddy and not WordPress.com.
You’ve reached support for the free blogs hosted at WordPress.com. The site you’ve indicated is running a self-hosted/installed version of WordPress (using the free WordPress.org software).
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. You can read more about that here:
We do offer tools for helping to make your WordPress.org experience as awesome as WordPress.com. Jetpack supercharges your website with features like easy video embedding, stats, and Twitter and Facebook sharing tools. VaultPress provides realtime, continuous backup and scans your website for security and performance. More information on both can be found at these links:

http://vaultpress.com/?ref=happiness
WordPress.org has complete support and documentation sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress at:
We do offer yearly and one-time premium support packages for self-hosted WordPress sites through our VIP program, available here:

Thank you very much for the information. The VIP plan is out of our budget. We are still just a small business. So my next questions becomes is it possible to cancel with GoDaddy and move the website back to workpress. com and purchase the business plan for support?
Next, how to learn about wordpress. Does wordpress have any classes I can enroll in, or do I need to find a different way to learn how to use wordpress?
I have a basic understanding, and I have been in the website to edit text, but I would like to become more proficient. Any sugguestion on the best place to start?
I do want to thank you for your help. It is greatly appriciated.
Thanks much,

Hi Teresa –
is it possible to cancel with GoDaddy and move the website back to workpress. com and purchase the business plan for support?
Since you already own your domain through GoDaddy you can setup Domain Mapping to use it here at WordPress.com. Once you setup the mapping you can cancel your hosting with GoDaddy. Do not cancel your domain.
Next, how to learn about wordpress. Does wordpress have any classes I can enroll in, or do I need to find a different way to learn how to use wordpress?
There are several resources available.
Our Support Site, Learning Guide, and Blogging University courses.Plus, help is never far away via our contact form. Private support is included with our least expensive plan, WordPress.com Personal. You can compare all of the plans, side by side, from here.
I’m happy to answer any follow up questions :)

Well, we have decided to set up Domain Mapping and use WordPress. Can you help me set up the domain mapping? or direct me to the instructions? I have started with the learning guide. Thanks again for all of your help.

Hi Teresa –
No problem! In order to map your domain to WordPress.com you’ll need to upgrade your plan. The most affordable option is via WordPress.com Personal Plan for $35.88 / year. Here is a side by side comparison of the different plan options and their features:
https://wordpress.com/pricing/From there, you can add the plan to your account. Just click the blue button labeled, “start with personal” or whichever plan you choose.
Next, you are going to work through some design prompts and finish up at a screen that asks about your domain. Below the big white search bar you’re going to want to use the, “Already own a domain?” link. That’s where you’ll add your domain.
This domain mapping credit is included in the plan, and you should not have to pay any extra at checkout.
After you add the domain via mapping you’ll need to update the name servers of the domain. Here’s the step-by-step guide to do this.
Let me know if you run into any trouble with these steps :)

Ok, I have done the mapping, but I am not seeing the website on wordpress. Does remapping move the whole website content with it? or do I need to rebuild the website now?
-
Hi @documents795, I can see the site here at WordPress.com now. Sometimes it takes your computer and the networks a few hours to forget the old settings and start looking for the site at its new location.
If you still aren’t seeing the site at the right location, try restarting your computer to see if that will help. If that still doesn’t help, get in touch and we can suggest other ideas.

I am seeing the template to start adding pages, but I am not seeing the previous pages that were posted on website. I had a total of 46 page and numerous pictures. Can you let me know when or if these items will show up?
Thanks
Teresa -
@documents795 the pages don’t copy over automatically. You would need to export and import them as outlined here: https://move.wordpress.com
-
Hello,
As you can tell I have sent several messages. I export and the import did work. But I did run into problems with items from the self-hosted wordpress website moved to WordPress.com for hosting. Several of the items from the website were not supported on WordPress hosting. So I have moved the hosting back to go daddy and decided not to use WordPress.com for hosting.
I did purchase a business plan for a year. $299.00 Would it be possible to get a refund of the plan? Please advise. Thanks for your help.
Teresa -
@documents795 sure, you’re well within your refund period. I’ve processed that for you, but for future reference, you can manage purchases here:
