  I would like to upload an already purchased them but I was wondering if that is possible with the current free plan.

  With the WordPress.com free plan you are able to purchase Premium Themes offered by WordPress.com. https://en.support.wordpress.com/premium-themes/

  However, I believe what you are referring to is a theme you already have purchased else where.

  If this is the case, and you already have a theme that you have purchased, you will need to upgrade to a Business Plan to do this https://wordpress.com/pricing/
