Purchased a domain, and desperately trying to make that my websites URL?

So I purchased the domain ‘videtur.co.uk’, and whenever I type it into Google it redirects me to my website, which is great! However, the url is now ‘videturcouk.wordpress.com’, how do I go about changing it to be also ‘videtur.co.uk’?
It tells me to ugprade a plan, but would I need two payments, and there was no option to select ‘videtur.co.uk’?

No worries. That is happening because your domain still needs a hosting plan here on WordPress.com. Please take a look at those options here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Let me know if you have any questions about that information. Generally speaking, you can get started on the personal plan and upgrade further when/if those features are needed for the project.
Then you’ll be able to connect the domain to that plan and everything will work as you expected.
If you already own a domain name with another provider, you can use that domain with your WordPress.com site. Once you complete the steps below, instead of your site address being something like yourgroovysite.wordpress.com, your site’s address will be something like yourgroovydomain.com. Thanks. It still doesn’t explain why I can’t select what my URL is when I go to purchase it. I don’t want to be charged again for a URL I don’t want?
