Purchased a template but it’s not coming up when I go to customize
-
Hi. I purchased a template and when I click customize it just goes to the old one from WordPress. How do I load and customize the one I purchased?

Hi there,
For the most part, changing your theme is a lot like changing the clothing on a mannequin. Your content (pages, blog posts, uploaded media) don’t go anywhere or change that much… they just assume the style of the new theme
Or to explain it another way, when you activate a new theme it does not add the demo content automatically. However I see that you did not have any custom content on your site (just demo content from your previous theme) so with that in mind I have reset your site and filled it with demo content for the Maxwell theme.
You can see on your site now it is much closer to the demo, and if you add more blog posts (they are added to the homepage automatically) it will fill things out nicely: https://theblackamericanspring.wordpress.com/
More info on how to set up “featured posts” on the theme here: https://wordpress.com/theme/maxwell
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Thank you. I am switching from using Wix to WordPress so I’m new to figuring out what the heck is going on. I appreciate this a lot. When I upgrade to a business site I’m assuming the look of the site doesn’t change, just the way I can interact with it? Thanks for doing that for me. I appreciate it greatly.

Hi there,
Yes that is correct. The site will not change, but you will have new tools and capabilities that you can use to expand the functionality of your site.
Also I should add that premium themes (like the one you paid for) are included free under the Business Yearly Plan, so with that in mind you can upgrade to Business, then ask us if we are able to refund your theme purchase since you would not have had to spend that money if you had upgraded to business first, instead of after the fact.
Hope this helps!
