Purchased domain under wrong blog…

Meant to start a new blog (3254poloruncircle.wordpress.com) and purchase a .com domain (3254poloruncircle.com) to point to it. Ended up purchasing said .com domain, but under wrong blog (martellsells.wordpress.com). Need to change this! Please help!

Hi there. You can transfer upgrades to a different blog you own from the My Upgrades page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#transferring-upgrades
I’m not sure if this works for custom domains as well, so if you run into trouble with this, let us know in a reply to this thread and add “modlook” to the tags area to alert staff that you need their help with this.

I buy into the process…but quoted below is the message I get when I follow the instructions — tell me the below does not clearly state that instead of (as desired) the upgrade 3254poloruncircle.com being transferred to the blog 3254poloruncircle.wordpress.com, the blog 3254poloruncircle.wordpress.com will be displayed @ martellsells.wordpress.com:

To clarify, I want the martellsells.wordpress.com blog to be itself, no upgrade, displaying only its content. And I want the 3254poloruncircle.wordpress.com blog to host the upgrade 3254poloruncircle.com, displaying its content on its upgraded domain. That is NOT what the “Transfer product” action above suggests will occur.

Are you saying there is already content at 3254poloruncircle.com? If you want that content on another blog, you have to transfer it first. THEN you move the domain to the new blog.

What I’m saying is there is an upgrade domain 3254poloruncircle.com with nothing on it except maybe a “Hello, world!” generic wordpress 1st post on it. It is housed under martellsells.wordpress.com. I want it to be housed under 3254poloruncircle.wordpress.com.
When I went to transfer the upgrade, I got the quoted message above, which seems to me to be a glitch…Intuitively, clicking “transfer product” should move the upgrade to the blog I select in the drop down list box (ddlb). And that’s what I want. But the message says it will, instead, transfer the ddlb selection to appear on the blog from which I am trying to transfer the upgrade. Makes no sense to my pea brain and is definitely not what I want.

The thread is tagged for staff, so just wait for their response.Also, not only is there no phone support on WordPress.com, you just posted you phone number in a public forum visible to the whole internet. Staff will remove that number for you when they get to this thread, but please don’t post personal contact info in the forum again. It’s not secure.
