Purchased domain with WordPress, but need to switch to .org
-
Last week, I bought a domain through WordPress, but a few days later discovered I needed much more functionality and flexibility with my site, so I want to use wordpress.org.
How would I use a third-party webhosting service with a domain I just purchased from WordPress? I want to be able to build a full site (but with wordpress.org functionality embedded on a few pages) using my domain name. Do I need to wait 60 days (ICANN rule) before I can do anything? Does this constitute as “Updating Nameservers” or fully “Transferring Registrars”?
For example – Am I able to use GoDaddy.com (example) to host my site, using the domain I purchased through wordpress last week? If so, how?
Thanks so much!

You can just point your domain DNS at the new web host.
