  another question about purchasing domain names , it says that I can purchase the domain name on a free site but without a subscription they will be redirected to my site with a wordpress subdomain . I just want to clarify , if I purchase my desired domain (brandonxsharpemusic.com) and someone types that into google that they will see a link with my site name and it will just switch the name in the url browser ? because if they have to acutally look up brandonxsharpemusic.wordpress.com , then it makes no sense to pay for that .

  Hi there,

  If you’re on the free plan and someone searches that domain and clicks on it, they’ll be redirected to the free .wordpress.com address.

  To make your domain your site’s primary address (and hide the .wordpress.com one), you’ll have to purchase one of our plans.
