Purchased premium
-
I just purchased a premium prescription for my tutoring business and the website address is not what I expected. I tried to make it http://www.anchorlineenglish.com, but I must have made a mistake and it says anchorlineenglishdotcom.wordpress.com. I do not want this to be my website address. How do I cancel what I just paid or how do I change the address to reflect the premium website I would like? Thank you!

Maybe you do not understand how domain mapping works. There has to be an underlying .wordpress.COM blog URL to map from to the domain URL. if you do not register the underlying .wordpress.COM blog URL first the software provides anchorlineenglishdotcom.wordpress.com so the domain mapping can proceed.

anchorlineenglish.com is hosted by Automattic
Hosting provider: Automattic
WHOIS: Click Here
IP Address: 192.0.78.25
Name Servers:
ns3.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns1.wordpress.comDomain name propagation is not instantaneous and can take up to 72 hours. Clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies
Know that it is not uncommon for your own ISP to be last to flush their DNs cache. You can view the DNS changes here > https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/anchorlineenglish.com What’s important during that stage is to be patient.
All www URLs on mapped domains like http://www.anchorlineenglish.com/ redirect seamlessly to the same content under the URL without the redundant “www” that has not been required for years now. The software will continue to strip out the redunant and unnecessary www.
Be aware that www is an old protocol from way back when the web was new and everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.
These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.

Oh, I see. Thank you. I don’t understand the terminology. When I purchased premium and my domain I thought I purchased anchorlineenglish.com. So, if I understand correctly, right now I have an underlying.wordpress.com blog URL that serves as a “map” to the domain URL. What next step should I take?
