Purchased Theme

    Hello:

I asked a question a few days ago and I am back. I have an already existing blog (loveandolives.com). I purchased a premium theme for that site through WordPress.com (the “Duet” theme from Theme Foundry). I Just created a new blog – mccuepartyof2site.wordpress.com for my wedding website, but I cannot access the “Duet” theme that I purchased for my other blog. How can I get the “Duet” theme which I already purchased to show up as an option on my new blog? Last time I was sent to the forum for the premium themes, but I cannot post a discussion there through this blog because there is no record on this blog that I purchased. Ah! Can you help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

Themes are purchased for use on one site, so they are available on the site where they were purchased, not throughout an account.

To use Duet on both sites, you would need to purchase it for use on your new site. Alternatively, if it’s a two column blogging theme you’re interested in, there are some other options to browse here if you’d like.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Sarah, i’ve actually browsed through a few comments relating to this topic, I have seen staff moderators offer a “credit” fora them already purchased on the new site, so that purchasing it for the new site will be free of charge. That would actually be the solution to my problem – I don’t think WordPress intended on themes being repurchased with each new free website. It was a lot of money paying it once. In reading that this is offered for other wordpress users, could that offer be extended to me?

I can add credits for it, however that method is used to move a theme from one site to another. Since I noticed you were still using it on the original site, I thought you wanted a second copy. (To use it on both sites is when buying it twice is needed.)

If you only want it on the new site, I can add the credits to your account so you can buy it over there instead (but that would remove it from loveandolives.com).

Let me know if you’d like to move the theme from loveandolives.com to mccuepartyof2site.wordpress.com. (Or I’d be happy to help you narrow down the best free options for your needs if you want to go with something else. Toujours is for wedding sites and has a some nice wedding-specific features.) :)

Ah, okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation. Well, any chance I can at least get some kind of a discount? If not, I would be happy to look into free themes.

You’re welcome! We don’t have discounts on premium themes right now, since we send the theme shops we partner with payment for their themes.

I’d be happy to help you narrow down a free option though. Like I mentioned before, Toujours is a wedding-specific theme.

I looked at your site currently using Duet to see how you have it setup, and found a few free themes you could achieve a similar look/setup with.

    Twenty Sixteen: https://twentysixteendemo.wordpress.com/
Sela (setup as a blog): https://selademo.wordpress.com/blog/
Edin (setup as a blog): https://edindemo.wordpress.com/blog/

Let me know if you have any questions! :)
