I see no premium theme purchases in your account. What theme did you buy?
The only place where you can buy a theme on WordPress.com is at My Site ->Themes. If you bought a theme anywhere else, you bought a theme designed for the open source WordPress software. You’ll need to download that theme’s files directly from the site where you bought it, but you’ll only be able to add it to a site on WordPress.com if that site has the Business Plan.

I purchased the “Birch” WordPress theme for $59 and purchased the $9 to install the WordPress on the HostGator website while downloading the 1 click WordPress install. I can’t locate the theme.
I’m obviously a beginner so i am definitely confused.

Hi there, since your site is not hosted here at WordPress.com and is self-hosted on Hostgator, the best place to seek help is at https://wordpress.org/support/.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are separate, so if you do not already have an account at WordPress.org, you will need to register.
With premium themes on self-hosted sites, you generally need to download the theme from the site you purchased it at and then go to Appearance > Themes and click the Add New button at the top of that page and then click Upload Theme and then locate the zip file on your computer and install it. Do not unzip the file, WordPress will take care of all that. You can then activate the theme after it is installed at Appearance > Themes.
