Purchased wordpress.com domain to godaddy hosting
-
Hi guys,
I have purchased a wp.com domain a couple months ago and now want to upgrade to self hosting so I got hosting with godaddy. Godaddy gave me an ip, username and pw to input when i point my domain to their hosting. When I log into the Automattic registrar manager i only see change name servers, not change IP. From what I’ve read I want to keep the nameservers the same and even if i log into my godaddy account and try to get the correct name servers to use it says the domain isn’t registered to them yet so they cannot produce name servers. What do I do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have my independently-hosted site’s domain at WordPress.com. It’s cheap and the support is pretty good.

All you need to do is to edit the nameservers for your domain name you purchased here and point it at godaddy. They should have provided you with the nameservers in the welcome email.
