Purchases are currently disabled error

    After receiving this error message when I wanted to purchase the Premium Plan, I sent billingsupport@wordpress.com an email regarding this issue because this has never happened in my previous experience with WordPress. While I did my best to find solutions on the forum the whole day, to my surprise, they got back to me within the day with an email saying,

    “Thanks for reaching out. We reserve the right to limit purchases on WordPress.com sites, so payments will not be allowed for this account. Your site is online, and you may use it on our free plan for as long as you’d like without upgrades.”

    I already have one site up and running and I’ve been with WordPress for a while now with no complaints or problems until now. In order for me to get a better service, I need to upgrade. But to be told basically your money is not welcome I just don’t understand.

    I just want to upgrade my plan and get this new site going. Help
