  Can I purchase a domain name without purchasing a plan?

  Hi @ajensen01.

  Every WordPress.com site on a free plan includes a WordPress.com subdomain, like ajensen01.wordpress.com. You can certainly use this as your domain name.

  Purchasing a different domain name, transferring a domain name, or mapping one that you already own elsewhere all requires one of WordPress.com’s paid plans.
