Purchasing a Domain?

  Hi! I am thinking of purchasing my travel blog. I have been using WordPress since I was in college, and has built 3 blogs. Now I’m thinking of getting my own domain. But I think it is expensive for a newbie like me. Is there a way I can get a discount or something? :) Maerose

  No discounts. But the $ 18.- / year here for registration & mapping is a screaming bargain if you look at other places or hosting your own site.

  Just go to the dashboard Upgrades page. The Store exists to sell bundles.

  Yep! Found it on the dashboard. :P I’m getting the one with protection. By the way, what will happen to the blog if I stop subscribing next year? Can I still use it but with wordpress.com? Or will it not be available to me anymore?

  Your original blog name never goes away (unless you delete it) – so the URL will just revert to the original URL – but it will take search engines a while to get used to the new address
