purchasing a previous domain

  If I purchase a previous domain that was cancelled, will all of the previous information remain the same as it did if I purchase it back? I created a blog last year and I was hoping to recreate it with all the same info as it previously had.

  Hi there,

  I don’t see any sites in your account. Did you have a site hosted somewhere else at your domain? If so, you’ll need to contact your old hosting provider to find out if they still have a backup of your old site. That is the only way you’ll be able to get your content back.

  Just to be clear, domains and sites are separate things. A domain is only where people can view your site, but your site itself consists of files hosted on a web server. Cancelling a domain doesn’t delete the site’s files, and re-registering a domain also don’t automatically restore the files that it used to show before.
