purchasing domains and web hosting

    Hi I have questions about pricing for domains and hosting as the descriptions on the website are very unclear . I want to purchase a custom domain on wordpress and pay for the hosting I do not want to pay for a subscription to wordpress . so if I buy my domain for 18$ a year as advertised does this include hosting ? or is wordpress going to charge me additional fees to host the domain as well ? Also the site pushes the annual plans with a free domain for one year but it doesn’t say how much I will have to pay after that . So please tell me how much it actually would cost to purchase my domain name and host it on the internet through wordpress after introductory offers expire .

    Hey!
    You are able to purchase a domain without purchasing a WordPress plan. Although without a paid plan, your custom domain will automatically redirect to your free .wordpress.com or .wpcomstaging.com site address. More on this here:

    To andwer your other questions, domains bought on WordPress include hosting at no additional charge. Assuming you are taking about a .com domain, it would be $18 a year, charged annually. More on domain pricing can be found here:

    If you do not pay for a WordPress plan, you will not get the introductory offer which grants you a free domain for a year. Instead you will pay $18 a year off the bat (for .com domains). If you do register for a WordPress plan you will begin paying an $18 a year on top of the price of a WordPress plan after your first year ends.
