Pure Clense detox spammers driving me bonkers!

I’m getting spammed, practically every few hours, for the last couple of days by some stupid “pure clense detox” whatever.
I’d rather be boiled in oil than buy that kind of junk, if any spammers are reading this. I would ask to be murdered, before I would buy from a spammer.
I’ve only rarely had problems with spam, but now….these people pretend they are commenting on my blog,–stuff like “Great blog, keep it up!” and crap like that— but with different people are all pretty much leaving the same comments, and advertising the same stupid products–which, let’s face it, if a product were truly safe and good to use, the company wouldn’t need to hire spammers to push it on people.
Has anyone else been plauged by this “pure cleanse detox” rubbish spam? The spam queue is catching it, still…really annoying being bombarded with the same spam, over and over. That’s sooo-not the way to endear me to a product!

If akismet is catching it, then it is doing its job. If it is on an older post (many times it is) go to settings > discussion and under “comment moderation” make sure that “Don’t discard spam on old posts” is NOT selected.
Akismet will get them permenantly taken care of it just might take a few days.

I’ve been getting these ones. Its so annoying! At first I feel happy because someone apparantly likes my bog but then when i follow the link in the persons name it comes up with some trashy detox rubbish. Talk about a let down.

Me too. Pure Cleanse and two others. My blog is not very old so I don’t want to close comments on older posts just yet. I can’t believe there is no way to block them other than the spam filter once they are already through. Grrr.

Has anyone noticed that the blog linked in drwhovian’s username isn’t hosted on WordPress.COM? Just sayin’…
