Purpose of a blogroll?

  There must be something about a blogroll that I am not understanding or seeing. I have a ton of links to other blogs, but I keep them in my browser, not on my blog where they would take up a lot of space. Why does almost everyone else have a blogroll on their blogs? Does it have to do with getting more link ups????

  It’s a way to let people see other sites that you think are interesting. I’ve found some great sites on other people’s blogrolls that I might never have found on my own.

  They are also good for getting the word out about your blog. I added blogs to my blogroll after I realized I was on their blogroll. This is a good way to know other bloggers that share you interest. Though the down side is that during the campaign I had a lot of Pro-Obama campaign sites that were on my blogroll, so today I did a cleanup and then also realized there were two wordpress blogs that were shut down that was on my blogroll, so I guess the lesson would be that if you do have a blogroll you have to keep checking up on the sites to see if they are still active.
  all in all a blogroll can only help your blog grow.

  Also: How would I know that someone has put me on his/her blogroll? I am new to this. Also, I saw what someone wrote about getting Feedburner, and now I am considering that. Apparently these are all of the things that bloggers use to get their blog out into the world.

  You can usually tell if someone added you to there blog roll
  because there home page URL will show up in the referral section
  of your stats.

  If I see a homepage link I usually visit the site & look at there sidebar.

  Dear tecko07 — This is weird. I once saw the Stats (a bar graph) in my Dashboard but now it is gone. How do I get it to show up on my Dashboard so I can figure out what the stats tell me?
