Put post only in category?

  New to WP. I have a couple of posts…3. They are all showing up on the homepage. The blog covers a variety of subjects, so I have various categories to accommodate them. But they are all showing up on the homepage. Is that the way its gonna be or am I missing something. I just want an introductory post to be on the homepage, and have the viewer select the category to view posts related to that category. Do I need to create pages vs categories?

  Hi. If that’s what you want, you could create a static front page for your post.
