put website offline

  How do I put my website offline? I barely use it now, but I’d like to keep it at the ready, instead of simply deleting it.

  Dashboard >> settings >> Reading >> Only visible to those I invite – remember to save changes

  Type “privacy settings” into the search box and get this http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=privacy+settings
  Results here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
  To change blog visibility to Private go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 .
