putting a link in a sidebar
-
I cannot find a way to put either a Link or a Widget-what does that look like anyway ? into a Sidebar left or right.
There seems to be no one place which describes the process to do this. I’ve tried Presentation, Widgets,Extras, Blogroll,Manage,Dragging Link,Text box etc but once draggedI can’t seem to do anything with it/them i.e.they seem to vanish /into the etherand I’m still left with a near blank sidebar on my weblog page.
All I really wnt to do is put some links onto my weblog page,
Doesn’t sound too complicated , does it ?Also whats an RSS feed, or a feed, come to that?

For links you can use the blogroll and then you have to drag the links widget to the sidebar (and save).
A feed is automatically “shipped” with your blog, the address is: http://yourblog.wordpress.com/feed/
(where “yourblog” is the name of your blog)
so no additional action is required.
A very good point to start with are the FAQ (frequently asked questions). -
Can I use the feed to help me create a “Table of Contents” page?
When I cut and pasted in the TOC page, I did not get “links”. I got a listing. So my question is. How do I create a TOC with links?

By hand. If you find your Archives widget doesn’t meet your needs, you’ll have to write it out yourself.
