putting a link in a text widget
-
Hi there, I’m wondering anyone can help me out:
I’m trying to put a link to my website in the text of a text widget. I code the link as:
http://www.ExtraordinaryWomenThrive.comBut after I save, the system saves it as:
http://www.ExtraordinaryWomenThrive.comTherefore, I’m not able to get a live link in there. (see http://www.adventuresinfreetime.wordpress.com – the non-working attempt at linking in the text box is near the bottom right of the page).
What am I missing? Is it possible to put a link in a text widget?
Thanks in advance for any help. I’m usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out, but this one has me stumped!

You shouldn’t be using teh w’s at all, though. There are no “www” bits in an address at WordPress.com. Be sure you’ve got exactly the right text in as the link. Your own blog link is not http://www.adventuresinfreetime.wordpress.com (even though it WILL work here) but http://adventuresinfreetime.wordpress.com

@raincoaster: I’m afraid your advice may confuse lisa4thriving. The sites she wants to link to are not blogs, and their URLS do have the three Ws.
@lisa4thriving: For a link to work, you must use the EXACT COMPLETE address of a site as it appears in the address bar of your browser (in your case including both the http and the www bits).
