Putting articles under different country names. Pages or Posts and how to do it

  No one replied to my message 24 hours ago so I’ll try again.

  I want to put click-on buttons (like Spain, Italy, UK, USA etc.) on my Home page by which people could click on to the different countries. I thought I could do this by creating more pages but it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve got the pages set up with an image on each one, but I can’t seem to link any articles there. I am thinking of more than one in each section/country. I have written these in Posts. Should I be doing something else?
