putting content in side column

  I’m using a template that has two columns.
  I can access all the pages that fill the the primary column of my blog…
  but i can’t figure out how to put content in the left column.
  it’s currently labeled ‘in the spotlight’ so I know I’ve been in there before but I don’t know how to get back.
  sorry for the stupid question.

  You are refering to a sidebar which is for widget content > Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets

  The sidebar isn’t designed for content; it’s designed for Widgets. Looks like you’ve got a text widget in there.

  There are some themes that offer more than one content column, and they are most easily found by searching for newer themes. Once you hit DePoMasthead, stop, because that’s the oldest theme that offers it.
