Putting HTML in Text Widget

  I would like to add a link to the footer. It seems that the text widget allows this, but I don’t know how.

  The easiest way to put HTML in a text widget when you don’t know HTML is to write what you want as a draft, using the Page or Post Visual Editor. When you are done, switch to the Text tab of the Post Editor and copy/paste that into a Text Widget.
