Putting logos and advertisers on my home page

I can’t figure out how to add a company logo with a link to my business on my home page. Please, how can I do this? Do I need a customized site?

Probably the easiest way to add a logo would be through an Image widget in your sidebar. You can add this via Appearance -> Widgets in your blog’s Dashboard.
As for advertisers, we do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can apply for at http://en.wordpress.com/apply-for-wordads/
Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, please see:

http://wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
