Putting paragraphs in my posts

    I have roved the Internet, looking at WordPress and other help forums and advice blogs, but I still can’t find out why my single post does not appear with the paragraphs I put in. What I see, every time, I access my Web site as though I were a visitor, is a single very long paragraph with all my original sentences. It looks as though I were an ignorant writer. I do not know HTML and I do not think I should have to learn it in order to put simple formatting into a post. I tried the Gutenberg mode, but it is just unfathomable for me. I therefore am attempting to work in Classic mode. I tried copying an entire word file (an op-ed piece) into my post. It had a space (two carriage returns or two ENTER presses) between paragraphs, but WordPress just ignored them. I deleted that post and tried to enter each of my paragraphs as a block, but again WordPress just ran the whole thing together. I tried the SHIFT+ENTER thing, but that didn’t work. I am just fed up and frustrated. Can you tell me exactly what to do, WITHOUT any HTML? That ought to be doable, if WordPress is presenting itself as a user-friendly platform for people trying to set up and maintain their own Web sites. (Also, I do not think that people should have to go to ‘public forums’ to get help with simple questions like this.)

    Hi there!

    I’m afraid that, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with BlueHost.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.     I can advise you to try pasting the text without any formatting, but as I said, there are differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org and if this doesn’t work, you’ll want to look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
