Putting posts in order of latest to oldest

    On my blog feed, I find that it posts the entries from oldest to newest. Is there any way to change that?

    I am having a similar problem – it is no longer sorting from newest to oldest but in some random order. I have manually fixed it yesterday and today but cannot do that every day. I’m going to view replies so that I can see your responses. ~smile~ Roseanne (homesewnbyus.com)

  • Hi there,

    @a116n

    On my blog feed, I find that it posts the entries from oldest to newest

    Of what site are you speaking?

    On https://murmursofthemedulla.wordpress.com/ you only have two posts published so far, and the older one, https://murmursofthemedulla.wordpress.com/2020/01/02/example-post/, is also marked as sticky. Sticky posts always appear at the top, even if there exists more recent posts. That’s what that particular setting does.

    It’s best to always open your own support request, rather than post into someone else’s thread, even if you think it might be the same issue.

    In this case I don’t think it’s the same issue. Your site, http://homesewnbyus.com/, is not a WordPress.com site, but is using the open source WordPress software at another host. We have no control over how your site works.

    That said, looking at your site your posts are appearing in order for me, with the most recent at the top and the oldest at the bottom. The older posts appearing in the slider at the very top are there because you added them there, either by marking them as sticky, or by using whatever mechanism your theme employs to assign posts to the featured content area.

    For help on exactly how that feature works, please contact support for the theme you’re using on that site directly.

    General support for the version of WordPress you’re using on that site can be found at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
