You don’t need to worry. :) Just ignore it and go on posting as usual. (The “export” tool lets you grab a copy of your site files in case you want to move to a different host, but it doesn’t delete anything from your current site.)

I thought I would backup my blog on wordpress. I read the info about what would happen when I downloaded the plug in (or whatever), what steps tp gp thru. I clicked on downloaded. It downloaded a zipfile to my downloads file and nothing else happened.

If you want to back it up to another location, you then need to use the “import” option in the new site location to pull in the info from your old site.

(If this is a self-hosted site, you can use a plugin like Updraft Plus to make a backup.)

no, it isn’t self hosted. different question. After I set up my blog I played around with another theme. I even added all my content to it to see how it would look. I accidentally published it so I had 2 blogs of the same title and content. I thought the easiest thing to do would be to keep the first one public and make the second one private. I didn’t want to delete it in case I wanted to switch to the private one later on. Today I discovered that I have followers on the private one that followed before I made it private. How do I migrate those followers to the correct blog before I publish my second post? Thank you!

by the way, both sites are called wounded joy and I want all followers to go to the public site that has a header with a picture of a bee on it.

here I am again after i thought i was through with the appearance of my blog. I decided to add the social buttons to the sidebar menu so my followers could find them more easily. I did but when clicked on they all lead to an “oops!” page or other dead end. i have gone back to customize where I first put them on and have clicked remove several times. This is important to me. I don’t want them to think they can’t share. Can you help me get that off the sidebar? Thank you!

I know I have had so many questions for you. I am sorry about that. People keep asking for permission to see my private site. It is just a theme I was messing around with also called wounded joy. But I accidentally hit the publish button and had to makr it as private to keep it from getting confused with my real blog called wounded joy. I would get rid of it altogether but I do not want to until its followers are migrated to my real blog. How do i get them to my real blog? Also, I published my second blog today!! Very exciting!! only one thing.. I typed into a small box on the left sidebar of the page as I was writing that blog. I made a mistake in a word that changes the whole meaning of the sentence!! That box was for text that would appear when the blog goes into someone’s Facebook timeline. Maybe other places as well. How do I edit that blurb!! I really need to change it and just can’t figure out how!!

My social media buttons cannot be seen until the comments button is clicked. It has been confusing for some of my subscribers who want to share but not comment. I think it is part of my theme. I would like to put them in the sidebar but have been unsuccessful. I can get the icons up but they lead to dead ends. I am pretty sure I have all the widget info correct. Any ideas to help me? I can’t get the FB icon that leads people to my FB page to work either. Any help would be appreciated very much!!

HELP! I don’t know how to go to any other part of the forum but this one onTags but I need help fast!! My subscribers are telling me my scribe button is not working. It is not giving the success confirmation and they do not appear in my list!! I have removed the widget and re entered it but it still will not work. PLEASE HELP SOON!!!

I have contacted Jetpack for the subscriber widget problem. I still need to know how to migrate followers from my private blog to my public blog. I don’t want them to miss anymore posts.

Please help me get the followers from my private site to my public site. The directions I found are not helpful since neither site is self hosted. They are both on the same account unfortunetly they have the same name woundedjoy.com.
After I created the one I wanted, I accidentally clicked on publish while playing around with another theme. By the time I realized what had happened, i had 7 followers. I didn’t want to shut down the site and lose the followers so i made it private. now i need to migrate the followers. Thank you for the help!! -

https://jetpack.com/support/subscriptions/transferring-followers/ tells you how to transfer subscribers. I think that Jetpack support staff can migrate them for you, but you’ll need to contact them directly. https://jetpack.me/contact-support/
