Putting Title,Tagline and Logo on Header in Independent Publisher
-
Hi,
I am trying to put my site title, tagline and logo/avatar on the header image in Independent Publisher theme. I can get this to work on some pages of my site but not all and most annoyingly not on the Home page which naturally is where it really needs to be. I have tried to deselect and reselect in the title edit box in customiser for all pages but this does not appear to work. I am starting to feel that I may need to delete everything and start again.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your detailed theme description page is at https://wordpress.com/themes/independent-publisher/ and that’s where set up instructions for it are found. The live demo site is at https://independentpublisherdemo.wordpress.com/
You must be logged in under the exact same username that registered the site to be able to access the site. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in that URL with the actual name of your blog.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and then login correctly under the relevant username account.
If the login information has been lost go to
https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#lost-passwordIf required use the account recovery form
https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-formAssuming you can login note that on the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/

Hi @bhnmachiningservices, I see what you mean. I haven’t seen this happen before, and it seems like a bug, but I’m sure we can sort it out.
First, let’s fix the things that are a bit unexpected to see if that will clear things up:
– Are you going to have a blog page on the site? If so, can you make a page called Blog (or News, or Updates) and publish it? It can be empty. Then go to My Site > Customize > Static Front Page settings. Try selecting the blog page for your posts. Right now you have your posts set to show up on the “About” page, which is odd.
– I don’t know whether this could cause a problem, but I think it’s worth fixing: your home page and your first blog post have exactly the same content. Can you either remove that post, or fix the home page content so it’s not an exact repeat of the blog post? If you aren’t going to have a blog on the site, you can just delete that post altogether.
Let me know when those things are done and we’ll try more settings to resolve this issue. Cheers :)

Hi,
thanks for the replies. Sorry for my delay in replying, as always the day job takes precedence!
Supernovia, I’ll try doing what you suggest when I get a moment and will report back on the results.
Many thanks
Alan

Hi Supernovia,
I think I have managed to do all the things suggested by yourself above. I’m afraid it does not seem to have made any difference.
I did notice however that in creating the new Blog page it has a perfectly rendered header with title/tagline and logo. Having seen this I tried deleting the original Home page and recreated it but it still won’t display the title/tagline and logo!!Hope we can try something else.
Thanks again,
Alan

Thanks @bhnmachiningservices, try removing the featured image now, so that it’s just using the theme default.
