putting up posts

    Is there a way to get your first post to stay at the top of your blog? can you order your posts? I thought when I started posting it would go in order of posts but it always puts the latest one first and I didnt want that?

    The default setting is newest post showing at the top. That is so that regular visitors always see your newest post first without having to scroll past stuff they have already seen. (For example, my site has 700 posts and I doubt anyone would scroll endlessly through old stuff to reach my latest post if it was the last one to be seen).
    However if you have one or two posts that you would like to stay at the top……perhaps they introduce you/your site…….then you can set them as sticky posts:

    Saying that there are ways to display posts in chronological order (most useful if someone was publishing chapters of a book) but there is a certain amount of setting up required:

    I’m new to WordPress and after successfully adding photos ( via add media) to hte pages I’m now totaly stuck trying to add an adobe pdf file and an excell sheet – can anyone advice me on how to continue
