Putting Xanga content onto WordPress

  I am trying to import my Xanga content to WordPress. I have followed the instructions provided by the site, but whenever I go to Import, I keep getting this message ‘The file is not an xml file. Please see instructions for downloading and using the Xanga backup file.’
  I am not sure where I am going wrong. Help, please.
