Puzzled about 2010 review

  I checked my all time statistics around midnight on 31 Dec/1 Jan (UK time) and made a record of my most viewed posts inn 2010. It was great to get an automated message from WordPress about how well my blog is doing but the post listed as having most views in 2010 was only at No 16 in the list I viewed both then and today. Can anyone explain this?
  I have prepared my own most viewed post already but have not yet posted it in the light of the anomaly. I used the top 10 found under Stats>This week – then clicked on This year.

  I got a similar error, listing the top post on my blog as having had 4 hits on its best day. I’ve had posts which have had over a thousand hits in one day this year, so I emailed it back to support@wordpress.com and asked them to take a look.

  Everything was perfect with my year in review. I enjoyed adding my own fake stats and snarky comments. Not that you’ll want to go read it or anything.

  Thanks for reporting this. Busiest Day was wrong in some of the emails sent due to a bug, but we fixed it so that if you click to publish, the draft will have the correct number.

  My problem was not with the busiest day information but with the list of top posts for the year (item No1 in the WordPress email should actually be No16.) I have been in contact with various people in support who are on to this, but it is currently still not resolved.

  Support have been helpful but I dont think I will be sent a corrected version of the email. I will have to change the details of my top posts myself before posting the original WordPress mailing to my blog.
