  Not problem, a question. . would I be allowed to offer free e books to visitors, and how would I do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Yes. By uploading them as PDFs and embedding a link to the file in your blog or a widget in your sidebar.

  Be careful where you get the “free” e-books – you need to have permission from the copyright owner to give them away – – also many “free” e-books are just a pile of ads in them which is against the Terms of Service here

  Yes, I was assuming they were YOUR books.

  Just use a text widget. You have to hand-code it, but you can put images in it as well as links.
