    Quarries:
    1. What are the additional charges (Recurring/one time) we need to pay to run full-fledged
    e-commerce operations?
    2. Can we choose any third-party payment gateway or we need to go with your ’s one and what are those and coverage of banks/UPI/Credit card/Debit card?
    3. What are the transaction charges for payment gateway in both the cases?
    4. Can we have integration with DTDC else what are your shipping options and charges, we will be operating PAN India as well as out of India
    5. Can we add custom functionality on website?
    6. If I want to add more storage space, how much cost will extend?

    I need some help to add more features into our webstore,
    • For every product we list, we need to upload following documents for user information. We need provision to download those documents or display those documents on webstore. Documents will be uploaded in pdf format.
    1. Specification document list
    2. Installation Document
    3. User manual
    So how can we keep it in the website so that user can download it and view it .
    • We are Selling the “Electronic Products” to the companies, in that we would like to offer a facility to the user to upload his Logo image file. Top on that, if possible, we would like to display a product image overlaying his logo on that .
    • We want to integrate “SMS and Email” Services, in that do you have any suggestions of SMS and Email formatting feature and how do we integrate these services.
    • We would like to offer selection of the parameter out of multiple/List of parameter. Wherein user will select multiple options as per his choice .
    • I also want to know site login and authentication with social media please consider it.
    • I need product search feature as well.

    Hi there,

    I’ll try to answer your questions as best I can, but want to mention up front that you’re posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We’re not the same thing as the open source WordPress software that’s made by the community on WordPress.org, and if you’re using that software at another hosting provider, it’s better to post in their forums for any help with that software. And for questions about a specific plugin, you’ll want to contact support for that plugin directly instead.

    We don’t offer any plugins on WordPress.com. However, for ecommerc sites we recommend the free WooCommerce plugin, and official add-ons for that plugin available in the plugin marketplace on WooCommerce.com.

    1. What are the additional charges (Recurring/one time) we need to pay to run full-fledged e-commerce operations?

    To host an ecommerce website on WordPress.com, you’ll need either our Business Plan at $300 a year, or our eCommerce plan at $540. Either plan allows you to install any ecommerce plugin made for WordPress, though we recommend WooCommerce, which also comes pre-installed on the eCommerce plan, along with a number of add-ons:

    Each plan also comes with one free domain registration. From the second year onwards the domain renewal will be an additional cost on top of the plan. The cost of that renewal will depend on the type of domain you bought:

    There might be further additional costs should you decide to use premium plugins or a premium third-party theme on your site. But you’ll buy those products directly from the companies that sell them, so we’re not able to advise you on the cost of those.

    You can use any payment gateway plugin made for WordPress and that’s compatible with the specific ecommerce plugin you use. WordPress.com doesn’t have its own payment gateway, but for WooCommerce we recommend the WooCommerce Payments plugin, which is also pre-installed on the eCommerce plan:

    3. What are the transaction charges for payment gateway in both the cases?

    That would depend on the specific payment gateway plugin/payment processor you choose to work with. Any transaction fees payable is a matter between you and the payment processor. We have no direct involvement in that relationship.

    4. Can we have integration with DTDC else what are your shipping options and charges, we will be operating PAN India as well as out of India

    If there is a WordPress plugin compatible with your ecommerce plugin that integrates with DTDC, you’ll be able to use it. Shipping options and charges will depend on the specific shipping plugin and shipping provider you use, and as with the payment processor, you’ll pay any shipping charges directly to the shipping company.

    5. Can we add custom functionality on website?

    That is a very broad question :)

    The WordPress software is designed to be extendable, in other words, the ability to add custom functionality is a core feature of WordPress. But the method to add custom functionality and whether or not it will be possible on WordPress.com specifically depends on exactly what you want to do.

    Also note that we don’t provide support for custom work on a site, so you’ll need to hire a developer to do that type of work for you.

    6. If I want to add more storage space, how much cost will extend?

    Our Business and eCommerce plan both comes with 200GB media storage. It’s very unlikely that you’d exceed that limit on a typical ecommerce site – the only sites that have hit that limit thus far are sites that were used for hosting high-definition video.

    We don’t offer an option to expand storage space beyond the 200GB limit.

    Disk space for your site is unlimited. i.e. there’s no cap on the number of posts, pages, products or orders that can be created on your site.

    7. Is there module for user rating and comments?

    Do you mean in terms of product reviews? You could use something like this, available on WooCommerce.com:

    8. Are you providing security of customer personal and bank details? Please explain.

    We recommend using a payment gateway plugin for secure payments, as that way no payment information ever gets stored on your site, but instead gets submitted to a payment processor that have the processes in place to keep that data secure. Collecting banking or credit card details directly on a WordPress.com site is a violation of our terms of service, and can lead to your site being suspended.
