Why was I charged for domain mapping – I did not authorize this payment and have lodged a complaint with Paypal. I have not used this blog and closed it down ages ago.

Unfortunately, you failed to provide any details. Automattic Inc. https://automattic.com/ owns WordPress.com and other products like Akismet and VaultPress, etc. so this could be a charge related to one of them. It’s important to know that each charge is sent to the registered email address for each username account, so if you have more than one username account that could be confusing you. Also, if you have a wordpress.org account and a wordpress.com account that could be confusing you.

Hi there,
You purchased mapping for the domain, gracioushomeliving.com, in April 2016, and that upgrade now renewed. When you bought the upgrade you agreed that the upgrade will renew automatically each year.
I have not used this blog and closed it down ages ago.
We do not automatically cancel your upgrades if your site is inactive. You could have cancelled the mapping at any time, or disabled automatic renewal, if you chose.
By filing a dispute with PayPal you have accused us of fraud, and your payment is now frozen until PayPal concludes their investigation into this, which can take up to 75 days if not longer. Additionally your site has been locked and a chargeback fee added to your account that you’ll need to pay to reactivate your site.
If you cancel the dispute with PayPal we might be able to refund you ourselves immediately, and you won’t need to pay this fee to reactivate your site, so I recommend that you please do that.
