Query about upgrading from free to personal plan!

    I want to upgrade to the personal plan but I’m worried that everywhere that I’ve posted my website address link that still has the WordPress in it, will no longer work? Or the links to blog posts will no longer work as I’ve changed the domain address? Can you please help me clarify whether that’s true or not as I know no content will be lost when I transfer but I want to know whether my old links will still work or I have to change them all over to the new ones?

    Hi there,

    Any links using your free address will still work if you add a custom domain to your site. The free address continues to exist behind the scenes (should you ever cancel your domain the site will automatically go back to using it), and we redirect anyone who clicks on one of those existing links to the corresponding new link at your custom domain.

    You also won’t lose any content, and nothing is in fact transferred. The new domain just gets added to your site, like putting a dust-jacket on a book – the outside looks different, but the inside doesn’t change in any way.

    Thank you so much for clarifying this!! I really appreciate it, at least now I can upgrade my plan with ease knowing it won’t affect any previous links.
