  Hi, what are the main differences between transferring my domain to WordPress or just mapping it without moving it away from the current registrar?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  With mapping, the domain will remain registered with your current domain provider. The process creates a connection between the domain and WordPress.com but it will still need to be renewed through them each year:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Transferring the domain to WordPress.com means it be renewed through us each year. This option would be better if you want to manage the site and domain through one account:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/
