Querying a Google Sheet and Returning Reactive Table
-
I currently use google sheets as my database, it’s a reasonably primitive method but works well for me as I don’t have great coding background. I use awesome-table to embed the info into my wordpress site, this works well, however, I’ve got some larger tables of data that I would rather not present this way.
Instead I’d like to have a pull down menu (single select option only) and query the google sheet, resulting in a table of only the relevant data being shown. The table would update every time a new value is selected from the dropdown menu.
This is an extremely common setup on websites but I’m struggling to find a solution that makes sense to me. Is there a plugin that can do this for me? Is there a reference to a site where I can piggy back off existing code?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi morts81,
There are several sites listed in your account. Is dailyfantasysportsaustralia.wordpress.com the one you are working on at the moment?
Just let me know and we can go from there.

Thanks for the reply.
I’m currently working on http://dailyfantasysportsaustralia.com/
The tables currently on there I’m reasonably happy with but I have some other data that I haven’t progressed with because there is just too many rows to load into a table. That’s why I’m looking for this solution.

Thanks — dailyfantasysportsaustralia.com was created using WordPress.org software and is hosted by GoDaddy rather than WordPress.com:
We can only help with WordPress.com sites here but support for self hosted sites is available on the WordPress.org forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
I recommend posting there for advice :)
